Difference between Mobile and Wireless IP
What is the difference between a Mobile IP address and a Wireless IP address in a practical sense? Is one likely my phone and the other likely my home wireless internet? Also if I turn on my phone's hotspot and then connect my ipad or computer to that for internet, will my IP address show up as Mobi...

How are proxies or VPN's identified as such?
How do proxies or IPs identified as VPNs get identified as such. I see on multiple sites a list of "proxies" or even this site identifies an IP address as a VPN or a proxy. Is this done through a stumble upon process or is it more technical than that? Also does the fact that someone is using somethi...

Mail Servers?
Hello, I am researching various IP addresses and I am seeing a few different IP addresses being listed as Likely Mail Servers and the ISP is coming back as AT&T or some normal local cable companies. These IPs look to be associated with identity theft in some way shape or form, so how and why would a...

Re: TOR exit node changes?
Well in my world I want to flag all activity resonating from a TOR exit node. So I would want the latest and greatest list at all times. So you think once a week would suffice?
Also why would they change? Is there a rhyme or reason for this?

TOR exit node changes?
How often will a TOR exit node change?
I see that the TOR project gives the ability to download the list of exit nodes on their site. However, do these IPs change constantly? Would I need to continually download the new list of IPs if I wanted the current list?

Re: ISP: AT&T Wireless?
In general is it more difficult to say exactly where a subject is when the ISP is an AT&T wireless or T-Mobile? I recall hearing that an IP address for a wireless device may simply hit on the nearest AT&T facility which may be 100's of miles away, therefore the IP address that would show up is simpl...

Re: ISP: AT&T Wireless?
Thanks Chris - very good information. On a similar note I also see many times an IP address whose ISP is some random company, but shows the following type: Corporate, Assignment: Static IP. In some instances the ISP will even be AT&T U-verse or Comcast. Does the fact that it is a "static" and "corpo...
