Re: The Plot Thickens

As a moderator on another forum, I can assure you that trying to evade a ban doesn't always go down too well. Even if you take steps to avoid detection, there's a good chance someone will recognize you by your posting style and wonder what you're up to.

Re: Getting IP information

If you are confident using PHP, there are PHP scripts available that let you turn an IP address into location information. For example, I was able to use a script from http://roshanbh.com.np/2008/07/getting-country-city-name-from-ip-address-in-php.html in parts of my website to figure out visitors' ...

Re: Newbie IP question

Firstly, I can't say for sure why your supposedly static IP is changing. I've only ever noticed that sort of thing happening on my connection when I've been tinkering with the settings in my modem/router and have managed to get user name and/or password for the connection wrong. Have you actually co...

Re: Can someone assist me in trace email location to city,su

Tracing an IP address to a precise location isn't usually possible without the help of the email provider that an email's sender used, and might raise privacy issues. For example, using only Geolocation data, the static IP address assigned to my privately run email server commonly shows up as being ...

Re: Please, remove my IP from the blacklist, thanks

According to http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=190.77.93.254 your IP address appears to be listed on spamhaus's PBL list. This usually means you should be sending your emails through your ISP's servers.

Only on your local network. Even then, MAC addresses can be spoofed by those with the proper knowledge.

Re: HELP WITH IP ADDRESS SENDING SPAM MAIL....

It could be that the spammer is forging your email address, which is quite easy to do if you know how. The spammer doesn't even need to log in to your email account or use the same email provider as you to do this. There is little you can do beyond tracking the offending email(s) to the source and s...

Re: black-listing+help

The bad news is that you're unlikely to be removed from Spamhaus's PBL list. For the other lists, I'd recommend reading the information at the web page belonging to the maintainer of the list. For any of the lists run by the Spamhaus project, I'd suggest you go to http://www.spamhaus.org/lookup.lass...

Removal requests

I'm new to this forum, and have noticed a LOT of requests to be removed from "the" blacklist, too many to respond to individually. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but many of the requests appear to be by people who who don't fully understand how blacklists work and the role this site plays in t...
