Hi,
I have encountered that the Miami-Dade County public libraries are blocking VPN services for at least PIA (Private Internet Access). How is this possible and what are the best practices to stay secure in a case like this?
Input appreciated.

Re: VPN Services Blocked (PIA) in Miami, FL Libraries
It's possible to block access to certain IP addresses, DNS queries, and protocols via a firewall.
I actually find it unusual that a library would be intentionally blocking access to a VPN service -- public libraries have a reputation of not blocking access to anything.
I would contact PIA support and see if they have any suggestions.
You might also want to ask someone on staff at the library if they are intentionally blocking VPN services.
Has this been going on for some period of time or is this the only instance it has happened? (It could just be a temporary issue)

Did you try any VPN service other than PIA?
