Cisco DPC3825 modem/router: releasing IP or changing MAC

Post by tyciol » Sun Sep 16, 2012 9:45 pm

I am at http://whatismyipaddress.com/change-ip and visiting http://192.168.100.1/Status.asp but I am not able to figure out how to release the IP address.

I have tried turning it off overnight, and I believe 8 hours passed, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure how long is needed, and I'm not sure if people might turn it on before time is up without telling me.

I am wondering if doing this release IP process would speed up the process of getting a new one, guarantee that it happens. But I can't figure out how to do it with model. There are many options when I visit it on the browser:

Setup/Wireless/Security/Access Restrictions/Applications & Gaming/Status

In turn each tab has additional options. Status for example has:
Gateway/Local Network/Wireless/DOCSIS WAN/DOCSIS Log

Looking at them I can't see any 'release IP' button or a field where I could change the MAC (as suggested in some guides). Does anyone know if it is possible for this model, and where to do it?

Otherwise, do you have any tips?
