tracing an ip

I am trying to trace an IP of a person woe tried to rip me off. He claims to be on an oil rig in New Zealand, but whatis indicates that the ip is in Mountain View California, USA. Any comments :lol:

The IPs you give are Microsoft and Google email servers. You cannot trace the originating IP on either of these services.

If you click on IP Lookup at the top of this page you can look them up yourself.
