Geolocation accuracy

I really appreciate the information on your site, in particular the accuracy chart http://whatismyipaddress.com/geolocatio ... n-accuracy and article http://whatismyipaddress.com/geolocation-accuracy.

How current is the comparison in the accuracy chart? Has accuracy, especially in developing countries or those with restrictive regimes gotten any better?

The chart at the bottom of that page is based on our users self-reporting of the accuracy within the last 90 days -- so, it's current.

Across the board IP address geolocation is becoming more accurate over time. Unfortunately I have not run any comparisons by country.

I'd have to check the sample size, and would probably need to use a larger window in order to get there but, yes, it could be interesting. Let me see if I can get it somewhere on the to-do list.
