Does how a person connects to internet effect the IP address origin

Post by nw99tall » Mon Apr 09, 2018 6:41 am

X-Sender-IP: 106.10.242.209

they claim they are using a laptop computer from a friend from the Philippines. They claim they are in Los Angeles, California. If they use their cell phone which uses cell company of Globe, would that affect the origin location of email?

Well, the sender-IP that you mentioned appears to be for a Yahoo email server in Singapore.

- How they connect to the Internet is going to affect their IP address and also what location they "appear" to be from.

- It is unlikely that someone in LA is going to connect using a cell phone service located in the Philippines.

If you think about it, there are ways you can get them to prove they are where they say they are. Good Luck!
