Assistance

Post by jdmixmaster » Fri Mar 18, 2016 7:54 pm

I need some assistance tracing this email. My Mom was looking to rent a small home and has been emailing this guy. She was about to mail him the money order but asked me about it first. There is no way that's going to happen and it appears to be a scam. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately gmail doesn't always include the sender's IP address any more.

If they haven't scammed you then there is little you can do except notify the place you came in contact with them. They can investigate and close their account.

The other thing you can do is to tell everyone you know about the problem. Your mom is not "stupid" and does not "deserve" to be ripped off. She's just inexperienced and uneducated to the fact that you can't trust ANYONE on the Internet. We need to help everyone understand that if we are every going to hope to stop the problem.
