Getting blacklisted once a month by barracuda

Post by Cold-1 » Fri Dec 22, 2017 5:37 am

Hi,

my mailserver gets blacklisted once a month by barracuda and I have no clue why. The logs show no suspicious entries and barracuda won't say anything about why I was listed (again).

Is there a way to find that out? The IP in question is 82.220.1.92

A quick check shows that something seems a little bit off with the rDNS for your IP address. Have a look here: https://www.debouncer.com/reverse-dns-c ... 2.220.1.92

Thanks for the reply.

I will look into that.
But I have found another misconfiguration. I had actually a catch-all address in place, and I think that this was misused for backscatter.

The chances you were black listed are nill. It someone that reported you more than likely a friend or an email you sent them. It was their disission to do such a thing. But don't worry if your only black listed for a single email because this will go away shortly as long as you didn't write too many of them to the email address in question.
