Server IP removed from blacklists, but emails still don't arrive

Post by topcatdan » Mon Jan 16, 2017 2:58 am

My server IP, which has numerous WordPress sites on it, was hacked and began spamming, getting the whole IP blacklisted.

It's now been taken off the blacklists for around a week, but I still can't get any contact forms, user notifications or order emails to arrive.

Is there some extra process I'm missing after getting the IP removed from the blacklist? Or is there a long propagation time? I'm completely at a loss of what to do now.

Sounds like there still might be an issue with the server. Have you checked the logs from the mail server to see what they're indicating?

I've spent most of today liaising with our server guys and they say there's nothing wrong on their end.

Have since found that generated emails will send to Yahoo, iCloud & Zoho email accounts, but are still being blocked by GMail, Hotmail & AOL. Have applied for whitelisting with GMail, but does anyone know the methods to use with the other large providers to make sure I'm not stuck on a grey list?

These things can be hard to diagnose without an error log.

Other service providers do have "feedback loops" that may assist deliverability.
