Who could this be?

Post by phoenix » Sun Aug 09, 2015 9:59 am

I keep getting daily messages that someone is trying to log into my gmail accounts two recent ones being 173.209.211.143 and 173.209.211.147 but there are many others. Thanks for any insight.

Sounds like an odd question, but do you travel abroad and use a smart phone?

I suspect that this is not someone trying to access your gmail account without your permission but the side effect of either an application or service running on the phone. We see those IP addresses being used by a variety of smart phone operating systems. The company responsible for the IP addresses, Syniverse Technologies, appears to provide a wide range of services to wireless carriers and others. You might want to contact the company directly and ask them.

Do use use free wifi at some retail establishments? If so, do you get error messages about accessing your email while using it?
