I work with an eCommerce platform that recently reported a user's IP address as "26039000708615855784158573", and interestingly, this URL redirects to the page for IP address 18.153.101.109:
* URL: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/260390 ... 5784158573
* Redirects to: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/18.153.101.109
How does this work? I cannot find any source that understands this conversion.
IP 26039000708615855784158573 redirects to 18.153.101.109

I'll dig into it, but "26039000708615855784158573" is not an IP address. It appears to be an IPv6 address missing the separating ":"

The underlying issue of trying to "fix" a specific type of an invalid entry, and correct it, has been resolved.
Since the IP address is invalid, missing the ":"s, it now shows a generic 404 error message.
