Hi there, i need urgent assistance on tracing ip address and thus senders details. I'VE NO OPTION OTHERTHAN SUICIDE NOW,PLEASE UNDERSTAND AND HELP

i recently sent a gmail to my principal complaining about teaching quality anonymously. i created new google account and sent my complaint.
that issue has worsen now and they want to get senders details. they asked us -to accept the guilt. otherwise they will call police and trace me through ip address and get me out of college.
my queries:- 1.can they get my ip address?
2.can they get details with the help of police from that ip address or gmail?
3.if so,what can i do now before they get me? is there any way to hide that senders ip address or datails now?
4. does buying of any vpn now help me in getting out of this?

On to your question...

Yes, if they involve the police they, the police, could subpoena the records from Google to find out which IP address(es) were used to access that specific gmail account. They would then need to subpoena the customer records for the ISP to find out which customer the IP address was assigned to at the time the gmail account was accessed. If you used your home internet connection then it could surely lead to you. If you were using a VPN, free wifi, an internet cafe, or some other "public" internet connection then it would be unlikely to connect to you.

Using a VPN after the fact does not change the access history to the account.
